Prior to the upcoming “16 days and nights” Africa Unity Square occupation to be organised by the Zimbabwe Activists Alliance and in solidarity with other activists and concerned citizens, there is going to be a Press Briefing tomorrow at 09:00AM at Africa Unity Square aimed at briefing the media about the event.

(ZWIPA)  in solidarity with Zimbabwe Activist Alliance (ZAA) with the support of Occupy Africa Unity Square (OAUS) and other partners will be Occupying Africa Unity Square for 16 Days and nights.

Linda Masarira, ZWIPA Founder and National Coordinator said this is the right time for Zimbabwean to awaken to the call and stand up to demand their constitutional rights.

“ The nation is suffering from high unemployment rate and the very same government is doing nothing to alleviate the plight of the very few workers still employed who no longer have a pay day for example NRZ employees a wholly owned state enterprise,

“The negligence and arrogance of our government has gone unchecked for long time now, our quietness as a nation shall no longer go on , if are to see a new dawn in our country’s demise , we need to be bold speak out now and that’s what we are exactly doing without going back,

The economic crisis in our country is affecting children and thereby painting a dark future for them Money does not grow on trees. Where do they expect parents to get money for school fees in this harsh economic climate?” , said Linda  Masarira,

The Occupation is informed by the following issues we have with the Government of Zimbabwe (GoZ) in no particular order-:

1.Bad governance--_----------------------------------------------$15bn, Bring it back
2. Deteriorating service delivery-------_------------------Declare Cancer A National Disaster
3. Human rights abuses----------------------------------------Restoration of Academic Freedoms
4. Non consultations on National Issues-------------No to Bond Notes
5. Unfair distribution of National Resources-------Vp Mphoko vacate Hotel
6. Non-Alignment of Laws with the new constitution----POSA must fall
7. Police brutality and abuse ---------------------Riotous Police must be stopped
8. Economic Justice -----------------------------Give us jobs &Stop harassing Vendors and Touts
9. Security of Citizens-------------------------------Stop Human trafficking, Bring back Dzamara


TIRED OF NICODEMUSLY CRITICIZING THE CLUELESS NONAGENARIAN ROBERT MUGABE? TIRED OF BEING A KEYBOARD ACTIVIST? WELL, HERE IS A CHANCE FOR YOU TO DO IT   WITHOUT FEAR.

WE ARE INVITING all progressive and peace loving Zimbabweans to join us in this occupation to send a message to the GoZ and demand urgent redress on 16 particular issues coming from the above concerns.
It is time we have a one on one with government as Citizens of Zimbabwe. That time when expression must be supported by action. We are sick and tired of being tired thus we donate our bodies to demand responsible governance.
We love our country but We are ashamed of our Government and its misplaced priorities that have reduced us to a Nation of Educated Vendors and Prostitutes.
